From Cali to Berlin
The next brewery under the spotlight is the excellent Stone Brewing, who I have been drinking a lot of this month thanks to Beer52.
Based out of San Diego, the craft beer powerhouse also have a HQ in Berlin, which ensures their incredible beers get the distribution throughout Europe they deserve! They have developed a close working relationship with Brewdog, which often sees their beers showcased in their bars here in Aberdeen. The ever awesome Westhill Service Station also do a great job of stocking their beers, due to their close working relationship with Brewdog (the circle of life).
I have been lucky enough to try the following Stone beers:
My favourite of the bunch is definitely Go To IPA; a crisp, citrusy hop bomb that has all the flavour of a high strength DIPA, without the high ABV.
They have this year added a new beer to their core range; Tangerine Express IPA - and I am desperate to try it. An IPA that is packed with tangerine & pineapple puree...WOW!
Stone Brewing were founded in 1996 in California USA. It is the largest brewery in Southern California, and the 10th biggest craft brewery in the United States. In 2013 Stone opened a location in Terminal 2 of the San Diego International Airport, and in 2016 Stone Brewing Berlin was opened.
Stone Brewing has been voted by the readers of Beer Advocate as the #1 "All Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth."
I think they might be on to something 🍻
