29/7/2016 0 Comments My current favourite beerMy current favourite beer is Bloody 'Ell Blood Orange IPA by Beavertown Brewery, who are also my favourite brewery at the moment.
As soon as I seen this advertised on Instagram, I knew I was going to like it - what's not to like?! IPA is my favourite style of beer, and mixed with blood orange... It could only be good! I finally picked up some from Deeside Drinks Emporium in Banchory (more on this place later) and it's safe to say I was not disappointed. The resulting beer is a solid hoppy IPA with a citrus orange flavour throughout, there is a slight bitterness to it, but to too much so that it upsets the pallet. It comes in at a hefty 7.2% ABV, so it does come with a slight punch to it. Beavertown have since released a collaboration with Boneyard Brewing from Bend, Oregon called Bloody Notorious Blood Orange DIPA coming in at a whopping 9.1% ABV. I've not tried this yet, but I'm hoping to get my hands on some before it disappears.

29/7/2016 4 Comments Hello and welcome...Hello, thanks for visiting.
Over the past year or so, I have found myself becoming more and more interested in the world of craft beer, and I felt the time was right to start doing more than just sharing my photos on Instagram... It all started with trying a few different Brewdog beers (Punk IPA, 5 AM Red Ale & Dead Pony Club) that I found in Tesco, and just giving them a try. It then began to grow as I realised that my local service station in Westhill seemed to stock the latest releases. I then found myself buying whatever new ones would be released, and trying them until I found what I liked. I've since became a shareholder in Brewdog after my wife Kerry bought them for my birthday this year, and I've started exploring more and more breweries and have even joined a craft beer club (more on that later). Anyway, that's pretty much how my passion for craft beer got to where it is today and I'll try to keep this updated as often as I can. 🍻 |
